Submit a Story

If you are a parent or grandparent with a story to share about breastfeeding that might be an encouragement and inspiration to others, please consider contributing your story or article for Close to the Heart.  Although not necessary, an accompanying photo would help add a personal touch to your story and would be appreciated.
I'm not a very good writer…
Even if you are not a writer, you can contact the editor with a basic outline of what you hoped to share and she will work with you to turn it into a story based on your experiences.

How long does my story or article need to be?
It can vary between 500 to 2000 words.

When does it need to be submitted by?
Articles and stories for Close to the Heart are welcome to be submitted at any time.

How do I submit my story or article?

Please be aware that…
Contributions may be edited for clarity and in order to fit into the space available.  Stories and articles may be used in future issues of Close to the Heart.  All submissions will become the property of LLL Asia & Middle East and may also be published in other La Leche League publications.  All contributions or letters must include the writer’s name, address (city and country), and e-mail address. ​
La Leche League International fully supports the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent World Health Assembly resolutions.  See here for more information.
