I am the proud mother of breastfeeding twins. We live in Lebanon, which does not have a strong breastfeeding culture. With the help and support of my husband, I have overcome many obstacles. Now that I have weaned my younger daughter, Tara, I can look back on the many months I spent breastfeeding her and her big sister, Padma. What fond memories! In a way, it shocks me to realize that I spent a total of 50 months nursing my two daughters. During the whole time, I worked in a full time job and lived as usual.

My 2.5 year old son Pierce and I night-weaned last fall. We bed-share, and he had nursed without restriction since birth. Almost 900 days into motherhood, we were still waking at least six to eight times every night, to nurse for up to 20 minutes at a time.
